First Aid & CPR Panama
Panamá的要求
In Panama, Executive Decree No. 64 of 2021 provides that Early Childhood Integral Care Centres (CAIPI) have a qualified technical team and a nursing service—part-time own staff or through an alliance—and comply with MIDES quality standards for health and safety. The rule sets no specific ratio of first-aid-certified staff, but it does require that health capacity within the centre. In practice, looking after children's health and safety means having staff ready to respond to an emergency.
Panama has no specific anaphylaxis or adrenaline framework for early-childhood centres, and adrenaline can only be obtained as a prescription ampoule, with no publicly subsidized auto-injectors in the country. In this context, the key lies in staff preparedness and coordination with the centre's nursing service. It is advisable to recognise a severe allergic reaction in time, hold the family's written authorization and safely store the child's own medication.
When a child chokes or suffers a severe allergic reaction, the first minutes decide the outcome long before specialised help arrives. A team trained in pediatric first aid and CPR complements the nursing service and responds with order and calm at the critical moment. A standards-based certification supports compliance with MIDES quality standards and reinforces the trust families place in the centre.
